Looking to make a homemade humidifier?
Although I wouldn’t recommend making your own humidifier, I do have some tips to making one if you ever find you need one in a pinch.
Use these while you wait for you new humidifier to be delivered to you or when you find you need some extra humidity.
The quickest and easiest way to humidify your house would be simply to boil some water. Boiling water will let steam out into the air and will work as sort of warm mist humidifier. Once the water is boiling, you can always take the pot into the room you want to humidify.
Just be careful when using this method, you could end up spilling hot water on yourself. Also, if you have pets or children, they could end up spilling the water onto themselves.
Another easy method for people with radiators, is to simply put a pot of water on top of your radiator. As the radiator runs it will warm up the water in the pot which will release it into the air. This method can be effective, but it will not get your house as humid as a filtered or filterless humidifier.
A Complex Homemade Humidifier
For a more complex homemade humidifier, all you really need to do is find something to heat water up with. You could set up a table that will not burn and put a hot plate or some other heating device on it. After this, you’ll simply place a pot of water on top of it and turn it on.
The homemade humidifier, if used safely, will be better than no humidifier at all. This being said, I would recommend that you get all of the humidifier benefits by simply buying a humidifier. If money is tight, you don’t have to buy a humidifier for the entire house. You can just buy a single room humidifier and rotate it when you need to.
Although it is quite possible to build your own homemade humidifier, you’ll find that they are inefficient and even unsafe at times. I would highly recommend that you look into buying yourself a nice humidifier today.
